Perhaps the most common question one receives regarding a plant-based diet is simply "why?". There are a plethora of reasons, both individual and collective, for abstaining from including meat in one's diet. These reasons broadly include personal health, environmental sustainability and animal rights and/or compassion towards animals. Similarly the support for these reasons range from personal validity and belief to undisputed scientific fact.
